Bac Ninh is the ancient land of special traditional culture and the land of Quan Ho – the folk melody that carved in mind of every Vietnamese people. Bac Ninh also has a lot of beautiful scenery and attractive destinations, such as: Do temple (where worships Kings of Ly dynasty), Dau pagoda, But Thap pagoda, Phat Tich pagoda and many traditional handicraft villages, such as: Phu Lang Pottery, Dong Ho paintings, Dau bai bronze casting…There are too much things to talk about and to discover in Bac Ninh province.
Located 15km far from capital Hanoi, Temple and Tombs of King Ly dynasty of Dinh Bang ward (Tu Son town, Bac Ninh province) was recognized by the Vietnam Government as “ Special National Relics” in 2014. This is the solemn worshipping-place of Kings of Ly dynasty – the people who found Thang Long and develop Dai Viet civilization. In 216 years long (1009 – 1225) of the Ly dynasty, there had 9 kings: Ly Thai To, Ly Thai Tong, Ly Thanh Tong, Ly Nhan Tong, Ly Than Tong, Ly Anh Tong, Ly Cao Tong, Ly Hue Tong and Ly Chieu Hoang
Phat Tich Pagoda also called Van Phuc Pagoda is situated on the southern side of Phat Tich mountain, Phat Tich village, Phat Tich commune, Tien Du district, Bac Ninh province.
The ancient pagoda is a special unique carving architecture. In Ly, Tran dynasty, Phat Tich pagoda was considered national pagoda, a famous landscape, a major Buddhist center of the whole country, the academy of Dai Viet’s talents.
Kinh Duong Vuong Temple and Royal Tomb was built from long-standing on the high ground on the banks of the Duong river area, located in A Lu village, Dai Dong Thanh commune, Thuan Thanh district, Bac Ninh province, was considered the shrine of feudal dynasty emperors. Until now, the temple is the only place in Vietnam which remains vestige of progenitor of Viet’s people – Kinh Duong Vuong (Lac long Quan’s father, Hung King’s grandfather). The temple was accepted by the Ministry of Culture – the historical (Ministry of Culture, Sport and tourism of Viet Nam) monument of national level in 1993.
Bac Ninh province is homeland of nearly 600 traditional festivals taking place all year around, many of them are big festival of a large region, namely: Dau pagoda festival, Lim festival, Do Temple festival, Ba Chua Kho Temple festival… Each festival is alike to a living museum on traditional cultures which fearture characters of national culture with religious rituals and folk games. Traditional festivals in Bac Ninh province are special precious heritages of the Kinh Bac civilization, an attraction with domestic and foreign travelers.
But Thap Pagoda also called Ninh Phuc Tu, which was built along the bank of the South of Duong river, Dinh To Commune, Thuan Thanh district, Bac Ninh province. This is one of the ancient pagodas which has the great architecture in the northern delta. It was retained and preserved quite intactly until now. But Thap pagoda was ranked as special national relics in 2013.
